Dr. Norden’s cornea and refractive surgery fellowship training took place at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and for years he served as the medical director of the New Jersey Eye Bank. He was the first ophthalmologist in Northern New Jersey to perform LASIK and trademarked Custom LASIK. He has trained hundreds of ophthalmologists to perform LASIK and has lectured nationally and internationally and has published numerous articles in all the most prestigious ophthalmologic journals and has written a chapter on corneal transplantation in a corneal surgery textbook. Dr. Norden is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery and is a founding physician advisor to the Refractive Surgery Alliance. He appears regularly in the Castle Connolly NY Metro areas Top Doctors, Inside Jersey’s Top Doctors and America’s Top Ophthalmologists. He has been written about in the New York Times, Bergen Record and 201 Magazine and Bergen Health & Life and is on the medical advisory board for ophthalmology for that magazine. Dr. Norden is known as the physician’s physician and has performed LASIK on hundreds of physicians and their family members, coming from all over the US, many from prestigious medical centers in NYC who crossed the bridge to come and be treated by Dr. Norden. Many local ophthalmologists and optometrists have chosen Dr. Norden for themselves and their families. Dr. Norden is the only LASIK surgeon in Northern New Jersey that is a member of MENSA, the High IQ Society, although he claims that doesn’t help him excel in his passion for playing tennis and piano.
